EMPTY SKY: New Jersey’s September 11th Memorial

🕠 Program Begins at 5:30 PM

Join us in solemn remembrance and unity at the EMPTY SKY Memorial, New Jersey’s official tribute to the victims of September 11th. This year marks the 24th annual ceremony honoring those lost, and all are welcome to take part in this moving and spiritual evening.

✨ Highlights of the Evening:

• 5:30 PM – Early arrival recommended to experience the sacred “halo of light” within the memorial.
• 7:00 PM – Ceremony begins with a stirring performance by the Pipes & Drum Band and the NJ State Police Color Guard.
• 7:11 PM – A moment of silence at sunset.
• The Pereira Triplets, sisters from West Orange, will grace the memorial with their rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner.
• Speakers:
  • Michael Danatos, brother of a 9/11 victim and member of the NJ 9/11 Family & Survivor Committee.
  • Kevin Shaeffer, survivor of the Pentagon attack and CIA officer instrumental in tracking Usama bin Laden.
  • Fr. Michael Duffy, who will reflect on the legacy of Fr. Mychal Judge and lead a candlelight vigil procession through the memorial.

🕯️ Candlelight Vigil

Following the ceremony, Father Duffy will lead attendees through the memorial grounds in a candlelight vigil, accompanied by a recessional chorus performed by Ramsey High School Chorus.
