The City of Newark warmly invites residents, families, and members of our extended community to the Thirty-Second Annual Liturgy of the Blue Mass, commemorating the 24th Anniversary of 9/11 and paying tribute to the brave law enforcement personnel who have served and sacrificed for our safety.

This yearβs Blue Mass honors the memory of:
- Sergeant Joseph Azcona, Newark Police Department
- Sheriff’s Officer Justin Rivera, Hudson County Sheriffβs Office
And in heartfelt remembrance of all fallen officers:
- Major Jeffrey A. Burke, New Jersey State Police
- Sergeant James J. Puhalski, New Jersey State Police
- Sergeant Steven E. Blecki, Spring Lake Police Department
- SCPO Erick J. Whitaker, NJ Department of Corrections
- Corporal Raymond Kuuchi, Veterans Affairs Police Officer
